The Green Mountain Unified School District, part of the Two Rivers Supervisory Union, is seeking a motivated, collaborative, and student-centered educational leader to serve as Assistant Principal at Green Mountain Union High School and Middle School, beginning July 1, 2026.

The Assistant Principal will work closely with the Principal, faculty, staff, students, and families to help foster a safe, supportive, and positive school environment.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills and a commitment to restorative practices, trauma-informed approaches, proficiency-based learning, and equitable educational opportunities for all students.
Qualifications:
Vermont Assistant Principal or Principal licensure, or eligibility for Vermont administrative licensure required
Strong background in secondary education preferred
Experience with:
Restorative practices
Special education systems and supports
Trauma-informed practices
Proficiency-based education
Student behavioral and attendance support systems
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, families, and community partners
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Principal in the daily management and operation of the school
Support school scheduling, supervision, staff coordination, and school safety procedures
Assume the responsibilities of the Principal in the Principal’s absence or as assigned
Serve as an active member of the Crisis Team, Student Support Team, and Leadership Team
Share responsibility for monitoring student attendance, behavior, and discipline processes
Assist with HHB and Title IX investigations in collaboration with the Principal
Collaborate with school staff, families, and outside agencies to support student success
Attend parent meetings and provide supervision at afternoon and evening school events, including athletics and extracurricular activities
Participate in administrative meetings and professional development to strengthen leadership practices
Maintain current knowledge of district curriculum, instructional practices, and educational initiatives
Support implementation of school and district goals and initiatives
