Scientist for Preclinical Mouse Models & Client Solutions
Locations - (Must be currently located without the need for relocation or sponsorship) in Boston to be onsite and able to travel locally 25%
We are partnering with a rapidly growing global preclinical research organisation supporting advanced in vivo pharmacology and mouse model platforms that accelerate therapeutic development from early discovery through translational validation.
This is an exciting opportunity for a scientifically driven PhD-level researcher who is looking to transition from the bench into a more commercial, client-facing role within scientific business development and strategic partnerships.
No prior business development experience is required, we are specifically looking for individuals with strong scientific credibility, excellent communication skills, and a genuine interest in building a career in the commercial side of life sciences.
Responsibilities
- Act as a scientific partner to academic and biotech clients, supporting discussions around preclinical study design and mouse model solutions.
- Engage with researchers and scientific teams to understand scientific objectives and propose appropriate in vivo strategies.
- Support business development activities through scientific presentations, client meetings, conference attendance, and relationship building.
- Collaborate closely with internal scientific teams to align client needs with available capabilities and study approaches.
- Build long term relationships with clients across academia, biotech, and pharma.
- Travel locally within Europe (~25%) for client meetings, conferences, and scientific networking events.
Requirements
- PhD in Immunology, Pharmacology, Cancer Biology, or another relevant biomedical/life science discipline.
- Hands on experience working with in vivo mouse models in a research setting.
- Strong scientific understanding of preclinical research and translational biology.
- Passion and motivation to move into a client facing/business development career path.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex science clearly.
- Commercial curiosity and business acumen.
- Fluent English communication skills.
- Currently based in Boston
- Willingness to travel regionally up to 25%.
- Mandarin Fluency Preferred
