Role Description
This is a full-time senior underwriter position at Green Lending in Independence, OH. You will be responsible for reviewing loan applications to determine borrower eligibility and creditworthiness for FHA and conventional loans. This role requires a strong understanding of mortgage lending regulations and underwriting guidelines. You must have your DE to be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review loan applications for completeness and accuracy.
- Analyze borrower credit reports, income verification, and asset documentation.
- Evaluate borrower's debt-to-income ratio and other qualifying factors.
- Evaluate the risk associated with each loan application.
- Determine loan approval or denial based on underwriting guidelines.
- Communicate underwriting decisions to loan advisors and other team members.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date loan files.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures as well as federal and state regulations.
- Attend training sessions and stay updated on industry changes and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in mortgage underwriting.
- DE certification.
- Strong understanding of mortgage lending regulations and underwriting guidelines.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Encompass
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with various loan products (conventional, FHA, preferably VA and USDA).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
