- Review scope of work, walk the site, and confirm priorities before starting each job.
- Program controllers with correct runtimes, start times, and seasonal adjustments.
- Perform wet checks and system audits; document issues with clear notes and photos.
- Communicate onsite with property managers and homeowners when needed (arrivals, findings, recommendations).
- Track materials used and report what was completed at the end of each job.
- Train and coach helpers on safe digging, proper head/nozzle selection, and neat repairs.
- Enforce safety (locates, trench safety, PPE) and protect utilities, turf, and hardscape while working.
- Coordinate with the Production/Ops team on scheduling, change orders, and parts needs.
- Support landscape crews with quick irrigation adjustments ahead of turf/plant installs when requested.
Tools You'll Use
- Irrigation hand tools (shovels, trenching tools, cutters, crimpers).
- Diagnostic tools (multimeter, wire tracker/locator, valve locator, pressure gauge).
- Small machinery as needed (compact trencher, pipe puller).
- Company service vehicle stocked with common repair parts.
Requirements
- 3 years hands-on irrigation experience (commercial/HOA or high-end residential preferred).
- Proven experience running or leading a crew on irrigation service or projects.
- Strong troubleshooting skills: valves, wiring, clocks, master valves, rain sensors, low pressure issues.
- Valid driver's license and clean, insurable driving record (company truck may be assigned).
- Able to work in South Florida heat and humidity; lift 50 lbs; dig, kneel, and stand throughout the day.
- Basic English required; Spanish a plus (many crews are bilingual).
