Job Overview

We are seeking a hardworking and dependable Landscape Team Member to join our growing landscaping team. This position involves a wide range of outdoor work focused on the construction, installation, and maintenance of residential and commercial landscapes. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in various weather conditions, capable of performing physically demanding tasks, and committed to delivering high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities Lawn and Turf Maintenance

  • Mow, edge, and trim lawns to specified heights using commercial-grade equipment.
  • Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides as directed, following safety protocols.
  • Aerate and dethatch turf to promote healthy grass growth and soil condition.

Landscape Installation and Upkeep

  • Assist with planting trees, shrubs, flowers, and groundcover based on design plans.
  • Mulch beds, remove weeds, and apply soil amendments as necessary.
  • Perform seasonal landscape cleanups, including leaf removal and bed edging.

Hardscape and Construction Support

  • Assist with the construction and installation of patios, walkways, retaining walls, and other hardscape features.
  • Load, unload, and move materials such as soil, gravel, pavers, and stone.
  • Follow layout designs and grade levels under the direction of crew leaders or supervisors.

Tree and Plant Care

  • Trim, prune, and shape trees, shrubs, and ornamental plants to encourage healthy growth and aesthetics.
  • Identify signs of plant stress, disease, or pest infestation and report findings for further action.

Equipment Operation and Site Preparation

  • Operate a variety of power equipment such as string trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, and lawn mowers.
  • Safely operate light and heavy machinery (e.g., skid steers, mini-excavators, trenchers) for digging, grading, or material transport.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working order and report any mechanical issues.

Winter Services (Seasonal)

  • Participate in snow removal services including plowing, shoveling, salting, and de-icing walkways and driveways.

Team Collaboration & Safety

  • Work closely with crew members and supervisors to complete projects on time and to company standards.
  • Follow safety procedures at all times and help maintain a clean, organized job site.
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with team members, clients, and supervisors.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or general outdoor labor preferred.
  • Working knowledge of landscaping tools, techniques, and machinery operation.
  • Understanding of lawn care principles, horticulture basics, and seasonal maintenance practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret landscape designs, blueprints, or layout plans is a plus.
  • Experience with irrigation systems and basic repairs is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with hardscape installation techniques and construction materials is an advantage.
  • Strong physical condition with the ability to lift 50 pounds, kneel, bend, and work on your feet for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
  • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and the ability to take direction and feedback.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred (depending on company policy).
