Position Summary

The Dismantling Associate is responsible for safely dismantling electronic equipment and separating materials for recycling and processing. This position involves using hand and power tools, sorting different materials, operating or feeding materials into recycling equipment, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Essential Responsibilities

• Safely dismantle electronic equipment using hand tools and power tools.
• Disassemble computers, monitors, electronics, and other equipment according to established procedures.
• Separate materials such as metals, plastics, circuit boards, wiring, and other components.
• Sort and organize materials into the appropriate containers or designated areas.
• Feed or place approved materials into the baler machine and other processing equipment as trained.
• Operate equipment safely and follow all machine operating procedures.
• Identify materials that require special handling and notify a supervisor when necessary.
• Properly handle and move materials throughout the dismantling and production areas.
• Maintain an organized and clean workstation throughout the shift.
• Follow all company safety procedures, including proper PPE requirements.
• Inspect tools and equipment before use and report damaged or unsafe equipment.
• Meet department productivity and quality expectations.
• Work effectively as part of a team and assist with other warehouse tasks as needed.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the supervisor or management.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse, recycling, dismantling, manufacturing, or production experience is preferred but not required.
• Experience using hand tools or power tools is preferred.
• Ability to learn how to safely operate dismantling and recycling equipment.
• Ability to identify and separate different types of materials.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced physical environment.
• Strong attention to safety and detail.
• Spanish-speaking or Chinese/Mandarin-speaking candidates are preferred, but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and work for extended periods.
• Ability to repeatedly bend, reach, lift, and move materials.
• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
• Ability to work around machinery, warehouse equipment, and recyclable electronic materials.

• Wear required PPE and safety equipment at all times.
• Follow all posted safety procedures and supervisor instructions.
• Never operate machinery or equipment without proper training.
• Immediately report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, injuries, or incidents.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Follow all applicable company safety and environmental procedures.

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
