About the Role
The Sanitation Associate is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall appearance of Green Dot Labs' production and facility environments. This role plays a critical part in supporting product quality, workplace safety, and operational readiness by ensuring workspaces consistently meet company cleanliness and sanitation standards.
Working closely with Production and Operations teams, this position performs routine cleaning, sanitation, facility upkeep, waste management, and general housekeeping activities. This role requires strong attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to maintaining a safe, organized, and compliant work environment.
Responsibilities
Cleaning & Sanitation
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitization of production areas, laboratories, offices, breakrooms, restrooms, warehouses, and common areas
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect floors, equipment, work surfaces, and facility fixtures
- Complete scheduled deep cleaning projects in accordance with company sanitation standards
- Empty trash receptacles and maintain waste collection and disposal areas
- Clean windows, glass surfaces, doors, and other facility fixtures as assigned
- Ensure cleaning activities are completed in accordance with company sanitation procedures
Facility Maintenance & Support
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work environments throughout the facility
- Monitor sanitation supply levels and communicate replenishment needs to leadership
- Support basic facility organization and maintenance projects
- Assist with interior and exterior facility cleanliness as assigned
- Report maintenance concerns, equipment issues, or safety hazards promptly
Compliance & Safety
- Follow all state regulations and internal compliance procedures
- Adhere to all company SOPs, sanitation protocols, and safety standards
- Properly use, store, and maintain cleaning equipment and chemicals
- Wear required PPE and follow safe handling procedures for cleaning products
- Maintain accurate cleaning logs and required documentation
Operational Support
- Support Production, Inventory, Packaging, and Operations teams during peak business periods
- Assist with special cleaning projects, facility events, and operational initiatives
- Participate in required compliance, safety, and operational training
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous janitorial, housekeeping, sanitation, custodial, or facility maintenance experience preferred
- Experience working in a manufacturing or regulated production environment preferred
- Must possess and maintain an active FA Card
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow established procedures and sanitation standards
- Reliable transportation required
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This role is primarily onsite in Tempe, AZ and requires regular work throughout production, warehouse, laboratory, office, and common areas. The position typically follows a 40-hour workweek based on operational needs.
The role requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting throughout the workday. Employees must be able to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds while operating cleaning equipment and handling cleaning supplies. Work may involve exposure to cleaning chemicals, production environments, temperature variations, and wet surfaces. Personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, eye protection, and other required safety equipment, must be worn as required.
