About the Role

The Packaging Specialist I is responsible for supporting the packaging, labeling, and quality inspection of cannabis products within Green Dot Labs' production facility. This role plays a critical part in ensuring products are accurately packaged, meet company quality standards, and comply with all regulatory requirements before distribution.

Working closely with the Production Manager and Packaging team, this position performs packaging, labeling, product inspection, and production support activities while maintaining accurate documentation and a clean, organized work environment. This is an entry-level production role designed to build foundational packaging knowledge while contributing to operational efficiency and product quality.

Responsibilities

Packaging & Production Operations

• Package, label, and prepare cannabis products in accordance with production schedules and company standards
• Gram concentrates and package finished products as assigned
• Assemble packaging components and prepare finished goods for inventory and distribution
• Support daily production goals by maintaining efficient packaging workflows
• Assist with flower, concentrate, and pre-roll packaging activities as business needs require
• Maintain accurate packaging logs and production records

Quality Control & Compliance

• Perform routine quality checks on products, packaging components, and labels
• Verify finished products meet company quality standards and production specifications
• Follow all state regulations and internal compliance procedures
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with SOPs and operational standards
• Identify and report product quality concerns or production issues to leadership

Facility Maintenance & Safety

• Maintain clean, organized, and compliant workstations throughout the packaging area
• Clean packaging equipment, tools, and work surfaces
• Properly handle packaging materials and finished products
• Follow all PPE requirements and safety protocols
• Support general housekeeping and sanitation throughout the production area

Operational Support

• Assist with inventory counts, production documentation, and material organization
• Support Packaging, Inventory, Production, and Order Fulfillment teams as operational needs require
• Participate in required compliance, safety, and operational training
• Assist with special projects and departmental initiatives as assigned
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous manufacturing, production, warehouse, or packaging experience preferred
• Previous experience working in a licensed cannabis facility preferred
• Must possess and maintain an active FA Card
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain accurate documentation
• Reliable transportation required

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This role is primarily onsite in Tempe, AZ and requires regular work within a cannabis production and packaging environment. The position typically follows a 40-hour workweek based on operational needs.

The role requires standing for extended periods, repetitive hand movements, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 20 pounds. Work is performed in a regulated production environment and may involve handling cannabis products, packaging materials, and production equipment. Personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, eye protection, hair nets, and other required safety equipment, must be worn as required.
