- Monitor building and room temperature and make adjustments to heating, air conditioning, and ventilation system controls as needed. Monitor heating plant operation and perform routine procedures and testing as directed.
- Perform routine maintenance to HVAC systems equipment. Change filter and lubricate moving parts.
- Monitor central oxygen tanks and adjust pressure as required.
- Monitor fire safety equipment. Arrange re-charging extinguishers.
- Respond to maintenance requests submitted by various department personnel to perform necessary tasks to accommodate resident safety, comfort, or specialized needs.
- Perform repairs and maintain fixtures and equipment as needed including hand rails, doors, windows, lights, wheelchairs, G-chairs, kitchen equipment and appliances, laundry equipment, beds, and tray carts.
- Monitor well water system operation. Monitor system pressures and chemical additive equipment.
- Monitor water softener operation and add salt when required.
- Accept deliveries of supplies and place items in proper storage areas.
- Assist in performing grounds maintenance tasks including lawn mowing and trimming, snow removal from walks and parking lots.
- Maintain building security. Check for locked and unlocked doors.
- Other duties as may be necessary and assigned by supervisor.
- 2 pm to 10:30 pm Monday through Friday.
- Every 3rd weekend, schedule changes to cover weekend Sat/ Sun 8-4:40pm (Fri & Mon off)
- Maintenance team shares on-call duties (compensated).
- Occasional overtime may be required.
- Maintain the confidentiality of resident health care information.
- Uphold Resident Rights
- Report allegations of resident abuse or neglect immediately to the Administrator. Safe guard the resident from harm.
- Understand and follow the Green County Employee Handbook.
- Follow facility guidelines and responsible to read and understand updates, memos, and educational sessions.
- Fulfill work schedule by arriving to the work station at the start of the shift. Meet attendance standards. Will fill in for open shifts.
- Work cooperatively and collaboratively with other departments assisting one another as needed and when requested. Be a positive team member. Refrain from speaking negatively, engaging in gossip and the criticism of fellow employees.
- Be supportive of the nurse, the NCC and/or RN Supervisor and the DON. Communicate in a positive manner. Be an active member of the improvement process by presenting concerns along with suggestions in a timely manner.
- Communicate concerns, questions, frustrations and complaints to the supervisor in a timely and confidential manner. In the event that this communication is not resolved, communication of this will be presented to the Administrator.
- Understand that performance and conduct reflects positive customer service to internal and external customers.
- Uphold the privacy and confidentiality of resident information at all times.
- Attend all mandatory in-services or complete the make-up session in a timely manner.
- Attend and participate in unit meetings, department meetings and other meetings as assigned.
- Keep personal items, and cell phone in the employee locker or in the employee’s vehicle. Understand that cell phones are not to be used during paid work time.
- Use the facility computer for resident documentation only. Understand that the computer is facility property and is not to be used for personal use for any reason or method.
- Understand that job performance will be reviewed for a clear understanding of expectations.
- Understand that job performance that does not meet standards and guidelines may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
