Front Counter Clerk

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and customer-oriented Counter Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service in a retail environment. This role involves handling transactions, assisting customers with product inquiries, and ensuring the counter area is well-stocked and organized. A positive attitude and strong communication skills are essential for success in this position.

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases and inquiries.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently for processing transactions.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions accurately while maintaining proper cash handling procedures.
• Provide product demonstrations to enhance customer understanding and engagement.
• Maintain an organized and visually appealing merchandising display at the counter.
• Assist in stocking shelves and ensuring that products are readily available for customers.
• Supervise junior staff members when necessary, providing guidance and support.
• Exhibit excellent phone etiquette when answering customer calls or inquiries.
• Utilize basic math skills for accurate pricing and transaction handling.

Experience

• Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred.
• Familiarity with cashiering duties, including cash handling and retail math.
• Experience with supervising staff is a plus but not required.

• Strong communication skills are essential for effective interaction with customers and team members.

Base Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
