Green Analytical Laboratories is an environmental laboratory located in Durango, Colorado. GAL has an opening for a full-time Client Services Assistant.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Client Services Department is responsible for picking up, transporting, and receiving samples and related items and completing appropriate forms and documentation. The Client Services Department is the primary receiving and sample organizer for the laboratory. They take samples directly from clients and perform required preservations/filtrations before delivering them to the responsible analyst or location.
They are responsible for entering client information into the LIMS and maintaining laboratory receipt records. They must be familiar with laboratory procedures and sample hold-time, storage, and preservation requirements.
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Demonstrates and promotes the company vision
- Applies good lab practices (GLP) in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate
- Receiving, unpacking, documenting, labeling and storing samples.
- Disposing of samples as needed and maintaining sample coolers
- Create bottle orders in LIMS and assemble for client pickup or shipping
- Prepare sample shipments for subcontractors
- Log samples into LIMS
- Create new clients in LIMS
- Knowledge of method requirements including preservation and hold times
- Provides cross-functional support to other departments as needed
- Ensures laboratory trash and expired reagents, as applicable to the position, are disposed of properly
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work space
- Prepare sample bottles and coolers
- Answers phone calls as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities:
- A strong attention to detail while maintaining the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong computer skills (MS Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to accurately document and maintain records.
- Professional communication skills.
- Ability to lift sample transit containers ranging from 30 to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to maintain a positive and courteous attitude.
- Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
- High school diploma or equivalent; experience in related work is preferred; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- One year of experience in a laboratory is desired but not required.
