Job Summary
Green Acres Pet Center is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidates will possess a strong understanding of animal physiology and care, along with hands-on experience in a veterinary setting. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in the health and well-being of our animal patients, assisting veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care. Successful candidates must be energetic and have good communication, organizational, and judgement skills.
Experience necessary
Required Veterinary Technician (RVT)License desirable but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and analyze samples.
- Administer medications and vaccines as directed by the veterinarian.
- Prep animal patients for surgeries and procedures.
- Monitor animal patients before, during, and after procedures.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Handle animals safely and humanely, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic or hospital environment (Clean/sanitize animal crates, sinks, tables, and work & cabinet surfaces. Sweep, mop/sanitize floors).
- Utilize aseptic techniques to prevent infection during procedures.
Required
- Knowledge of veterinary practices and procedures.
- Proficiency in dog handling and restraint.
- Ability to work extended shifts (shift ends when last patient is picked up).

- Animal catheterization
- Veterinary Technician Certifications
- CPR Certification
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32.0 – 40.0 per week
