Supervisor: Marc Fleming
Minimum Requirements: Current GCSD tenured teacher
Desired Qualifications: Effective or Highly Effective on 2025-26 Annual Professional Performance Review;
Experience leading professional development related to PLCs, RtI, social emotional learning (SEL) and continuous school improvement
Participation in professional development for Professional Learning Communities (PLC), Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Data-Driven Instruction (DDI), Response to Intervention (RtI), Continuous School Improvement (CSI), Culturally Responsive Education (CRE), and Adult Learning Model Professional Development
Extensive knowledge of the Strategic Framework and Comprehensive Improvement Plan
Willingness to plan and facilitate professional development for the following: Leadership, Principal Learning Networks, Guiding Coalition, Strategic Plan, SIP Reviews, Data Dives and District Improvement Team.
Commitment to and belief in high achievement of all learners and commitment to ongoing professional development to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of all learners
Demonstrated leadership skills
Willingness to be flexible with scheduling
Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text) presentation and communication skills
Deep understanding and appreciation of the National Teacher Leadership Model
Experience building relationships with teacher and principal leaders in the district and beyond for the purpose of establishing an environment of trust, collaboration, and providing instructional support
Ability to communicate effectively, and build teams in support of social emotional learning
Position Summary/Responsibilities: Assist the Director of School Improvement with facilitating the writing, submission and facilitation of the District Comprehensive Improvement Plan.
Collaborate with the Superintendent and members of the Cabinet to facilitate the development of the District's Strategic Plan
Work with the Director of School Improvement and members of the District School Improvement Team to assist with the planning and facilitation of Summer Leadership Academy. Leadership, Principal Learning Networks, Guiding Coalition, SIP Reviews, Data Dives and District Improvement Team.
Coach principals and teacher-leaders on how to lead and facilitate Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) focused on collaborative inquiry, data analysis, and the study of high-quality instructional practices. Ensure PLCs serve as a space for shared professional growth and alignment with the building SIP/SCEP.
Build and strengthen relationships between GTA and administrators for the purpose of establishing an environment of trust and collaboration
Strong ability to coach peers
Serve as a resource for schools on research-based best practices
Promote coherence among the Strategic Framework, school improvement, and building-level initiatives
Use a facilitative, competency based coaching methodology
Participate in ongoing professional learning, working collaboratively with department peers, principals, directors and the assistant superintendents
Willingness to attend regional, state or national training as may be required to build expertise in curriculum, instruction, and student achievement
This position may be called on to substitute in classroom(s) when the need for a daily substitute arises. In very rare cases, this position may be called upon to fulfil a vacancy in the appropriate tenure area until the vacancy can be filled. The individual in this position may be invited to attend Summer Leadership Academy (SLA) and will be compensated at the Professional Rate ($35/hour).
Execute other tasks as assigned by the building principal or Director of School Improvement
