Continuous Improvement Engineer

Grecian Delight | Kronos Foods Corp is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to support our continuous improvement efforts at our Glendale Heights facility.  Responsibilities include leading initiatives in process improvement, facility layout planning, best methods implementation, time & work studies, and various other continuous improvement initiatives.Grecian Delight | Kronos Foods Corp is a leading manufacturer of Greek and Mediterranean foods for foodservice, national chain, retail grocery, specialty, and warehouse club businesses. We manufacture and distribute specialty meats, flatbreads, dips, spreads, and sauces.  Our manufacturing facilities are located in Elk Grove Village and Glendale Heights.   What you are going to be doing… Provide process improvement expertise for the development and implementation of effective systems that ensure the manufacturing processes perform to their maximum capacity at the lowest cost. Deliver cost, system, and profitability analysis.  Develop work standards & improve processes using time study or other standard process evaluation tools.  Maintain process standards and documentation.   Project Manage large / complex projects.  Support activities to identify potential problems, troubleshoot, and participate in analysis of issues.  Prepare, transmit and expedite project documentation to the Owner/Architect/Engineer for approval. Work closely with the operations team to educate, train, and implement continuous improvement methodologies and initiatives.  Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the provisions and requirements of all contract documents, including plans, specifications, owner’s contract, sub-contracts and purchase orders. Meet with vendors as part of equipment procurement process and system design. Negotiate and review pending contracts. Utilize process improvement techniques, such as Work Measurement, Lean Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, and other Lean Manufacturing tools to support Continuous Improvement goals. Be an active advocate and positively impact the cultural transformation to a Lean Continuous Improvement Culture.  What you need to have… Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial/Applied, or Chemical Engineering.  Lean and/or Six Sigma certification preferred.
