Part-Time Massage Therapist

Position Summary

The Wilkes-Barre Family YMCA is seeking a skilled and professional Massage Therapist to provide therapeutic massage services for members and program participants. The Massage Therapist will create a welcoming and safe environment, offering services that promote relaxation, recovery, and overall wellness in alignment with the YMCA’s mission of strengthening community through healthy living.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional massage therapy services, including Swedish, deep tissue, sports, and other therapeutic techniques as qualified.
• Conduct client consultations to understand needs, concerns, and contraindications prior to each session.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and inviting massage space in accordance with YMCA and state licensing standards.
• Educate clients on stretching, relaxation, and self-care techniques when appropriate.
• Manage scheduling, session records, and client confidentiality.
• Promote YMCA wellness programs and services to members.
• Maintain current licensure, certifications, and continuing education as required by state law.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Pennsylvania Massage Therapy License.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire).
• Prior professional massage therapy experience preferred.
• Excellent communication, professionalism, and customer service skills.
• Commitment to the mission and values of the YMCA.

Schedule & Compensation

• Part-time, flexible schedule including evenings and weekends based on client needs and facility availability.
• Compensation: $20 hourly rate plus commission per massage session (based on experience).
