What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full Time Pre K Counts Teacher (Hazleton YMCA) position at Greater Wyoming Valley Area YMCA?
The Greater Wyoming Valley Area YMCA is actively seeking a Level I Certified Early Childhood Teacher to join us in our PreK Counts program for the 2026-2027 school year!
This is a full time (40 hours per week) position, August through June with the opportunity to work in the Summer. There is a competitive starting salary which is in line with Hazleton Area School District. This is a great experience for a recent college graduate!
Requirements and Responsibilities:
-A passion for Early Childhood Education
-Active Level I Teaching Certification
-Four Clearances (Criminal Background Check, Child Abuse History Clearance, DHS Fingerprints and NSOR)
-Knowledge of Keystone STARS and DHS licensing requirements
-Creative and innovative lesson planning; familiarity with The Creative Curriculum
-Child assessments and developmental screening; experience with the Ages and Stages Questionnaire, and The Pearson Work Sampling System.
-Communication with parents and parent engagement activities
-Completion of required professional development and pathway to Level II Certification
