Position: Pre-K Counts Classroom Lead Teacher
Location: Little People Daycare, Scranton

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute engaging lesson plans that align with the Pre-K curriculum objectives.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages active participation and social development.
  • Provide individualized attention to students, addressing their unique learning needs and interests.
  • Create a safe and supportive learning environment where children can thrive emotionally, socially, and cognitively.
  • Collaborate with assistant teachers and support staff to ensure a well-rounded educational experience.
  • Regularly communicate with parents and caregivers about student progress and classroom activities.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods, materials, and resources to cater to different learning styles.

Child-Centered Activities: Observe each child and provide activities to address their emotional, social, physical, and cognitive needs.

Social Competencies: Assist in setting goals to enhance children's social competencies and self-esteem.

Classroom Planning: Contribute to classroom planning and organization, aligning with program goals and philosophy.

Parent Communication: Maintain daily open communication, both verbal and written, with parents.

Record Keeping: Write accident, injury, and behavior reports as necessary.

Mandated Reporting: Report any suspected abuse to Childline and supervisor in adherence to mandated reporting guidelines.

Licensing Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable licensing regulations.

Classroom Environment: Help create a classroom environment that reflects program goals and philosophy.

Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality regarding student and family information.

Supervision: Maintain appropriate child-staff ratios and supervise children at all times.

Teamwork and Respect: Foster a respectful work environment, collaborating effectively as a team.

Professional Development: Attend trainings and staff meetings as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education.
  • State teaching certification Level 1 for pre-K-4 cert
  • Previous experience in a lead teaching role within a pre-K or early childhood education setting.
  • Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in early education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with young children.

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
