Overview
Greater St. Louis Area Scouting has been helping young people become leaders since 1911. We run summer camps, outdoor programs, and training courses to teach important skills and values to nearly 30,000 kids each year. As a Print Production and Design Support Specialist, you’ll work with our Print Shop Supervisor to support daily operations of the print shop, including preparing and producing printed materials, providing basic design support, maintaining equipment and supplies, and assisting with mail processing and shipping. Training will be provided.
What You’ll Do
Print Production
- Operate printers and finishing equipment (cutting, folding, binding, etc.).
- Prepare print jobs according to instructions, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Load paper stock, collate, and assemble print projects.
- Perform routine maintenance and monitor service needs for equipment.
- Maintain inventory of print and office supplies.
Design Support
- Make basic edits to print projects submitted to the print shop.
- Prepare files for print by converting formats, adjusting layout, or resizing as needed.
- Use programs such as Microsoft Publisher, Canva, or Adobe Acrobat to assist with simple layout adjustments. (Extensive graphic design skills are not required.)
Mail Processing and Shipping
- Process mail lists through postal software, including merging, cleaning, and correcting addresses.
- Assist in preparing and delivering large mailings to the post office.
- Receive and direct shipments at the loading dock.
Other Duties
- Provide general office and administrative support as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- No prior print shop experience required; training will be provided.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher) preferred.
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat or Canva a plus.
- Ability to operate or learn to operate printing and finishing equipment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to follow instructions, manage multiple tasks, and work independently.
Benefits
- Salary: $16 per hour
- Schedule: Choice of a 5-day work week (M–F, 9:00am–5:00pm) or a 4-day work week (M–Th, 7:00am–5:00pm), with occasional adjustments for office coverage or peak periods.
