What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Support Specialist position at Bridges Community Support Services?
Bridges Community Support Services is a grass roots social service agency and has been a staple in the St. Louis area for more than 40 years. We are seeking energetic and creative candidates to support individuals living on their own or with family/friends to live their dreams as independently as possible. Community Support Specialists work with individuals with IDD, TBI, and/or mental health diagnoses to be of their communities, not just in them.
This is a flexible position with tasks that include:
-Teaching independent living skills in a hands on manner.
-Facilitating team meetings & assisting individuals to self advocate for wants and needs.
-Supporting the completion of benefits paperwork, reviewing mail, or correspondence.
-Promoting fiscal responsibility; working on budgeting, bill pay, and savings.
-Promoting health and safety; support with medical scheduling/follow up, personal and household safety skills practice.
-Helping individuals discover new goals and dreams and working towards them.
All CSS must have a high school diploma or GED, driver's license in good standing, auto insurance in their name, and be able to pass a background screening. The position does include periodically transporting the individuals supported.

Pay Scale- Sliding- based upon billable hours $18-$25/hour
