GRCSU-Occupational Therapist- Greater Rutland County Supervisory Union is seeking a passionate, collaborative, and student-centered Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate is committed to working interprofessionally, using a consultative service delivery model, and ensuring that all students can access and participate meaningfully in their school environment. The occupational therapist should have a working knowledge of Special Education state and federal guidelines, regulations, and laws.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide occupational therapy services to students PreK- 12 focusing on enabling participation in school routines and learning through direct and indirect services using the consultative approach
Utilize a consultative and collaborative approach, working closely with and coaching teachers, parents, paraprofessionals, and related service providers.
Engage in team-based planning and problem-solving to support students’ access to the curriculum through classroom modifications, adaptive strategies, and skill development.
Conduct evaluations and develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in compliance with federal and state regulations
Participate in IEP meetings as a collaborative team member, contributing to decision-making regarding goals, services, and supports.
Deliver education to school staff on topics related to motor development, self-regulation, executive functioning, assistive technology, prevocational/ vocational skills, and environmental accommodations, paired with data collection that promotes student success
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
Valid Vermont OT license and NBCOT certification
Experience working in school-based or pediatric settings preferred
Strong knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and educational service delivery models
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teachers, related service providers, and families, as well as supervise a COTA
Salary : $55,000 - $70,000
