What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vehicle Inventory Specialist position at Greater Rockford Auto Auction?
This is an "On the Road" position serving Joliet, IL and the surrounding area. Local travel is required 100% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Identify damage, missing parts, and mechanical problems by inspecting all repo/lease vehicles (i.e. interior, exterior, odometer reading, trunk area, engine compartment, noting any damage or repair to frame, paint or other, engine noise, AC/heater operation, radio, tire condition, etc.)
- Document vehicle condition by completing appropriate Condition Report (CR), taking digital pictures and computer data entry in a timely manner.
- Prepare selected vehicles for Internet viewing by taking digital pictures during the inspection process and writing Condition reports.
- May occasionally be required to work overtime as business needs dictate.
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.
Competencies/Skills
- Valid Driver’s License and safe driving record required
- Basic computer and tablet skills required. Familiarity with tablets is a plus.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear
- Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch and climb
- Works outside and drives in all weather conditions
- Essential visual functions of this role may include the ability to perceive close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Job Type: Full-time $15-$17/hr. with benefits
