Greets patients and makes sure that necessary paperwork is completed. Provides assistance to Billing Department as needed. Serves as a primary customer service representative for GRO. Completes other duties and special projects, as assigned or requested.
Duties and Responsibilities:

6. Check-in Receptionist duties
– Greets patients and provides necessary paperwork for completion
– Obtains current patient demographic information and enters the information into the computer
– Copies insurance cards for all new patients and cards for new insurance of established patients
– Responsible for verifying that needed referrals are received before the patient is seen
– Notifies appropriate back-office staff that patient is present after patient has completed paperwork
– Calls appropriate agencies for assistance in case of emergency
– Provide assistance to the Billing Department as needed
– Compliance with HIPAA, OSHA and Red Flag Rules
– Collects co-pays, co-insurance and deductible from patients
7. Check-out Receptionist duties
– Greets outgoing patients.
– Collects appropriate co-payments and/or account balances not identified upon Check-In
– Issues appropriate duplicate receipts when receiving payments by cash or check directly from patients
– Calls appropriate agencies for assistance in case of emergency
– Stuff and mail patient statements
– Compliance with HIPAA, OSHA and Red Flag Rules
8. Other Duties as Assigned (not all inclusive)
- Monitor, order and stock office supplies
- Monitor, review, rename and distribute material in fax inbox
9. Responsibility for assets
- Responsible for incoming cash, checks, and credit card receipts until delivered to accounts receivable office

Requirements:
Required
1. High school diploma or GED certificate
2. Good typing skills

5. Ability to run fax machine, postage meter and printers
6. Strong ethical and moral character references
Preferred:
Medical receptionist experience
