Job Summary: The Facilities Director is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of all physical building(s). This position is also responsible for managing staff, budgets, and subcontractors, as well as overseeing construction projects. They manage multiple types of technical services associated with facilities management, and they must be able to assess and successfully resolve any issues that may arise with minimal disruption to business operations. The Facilities Director must be proficient in the planning, operation, and supervision of the physical plant.

Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in management, industrial maintenance, engineering, or related
· 10 years of supervisory experience, preferably in maintenance/facilities functions
· Significant proven management experience and skills
· Technical capability and understanding
· Excellent skills in organizing work and getting it done through others, including engineers, and contractors
· Budgeting knowledge and experience
· Strong employee motivation skills and demonstrated success in managing a team
· Well-developed interpersonal, communication, influencing, presentation & negotiating skills
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with cross-functional teams
Preferred Licenses and Certifications:
· Certifications in facilities management or related fields (e.g., CFM, FMP).
· NYS Class C Water License.
· Experience with compliance and safety regulations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position supervises all maintenance personnel
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Lead and manage maintenance teams across multiple facilities.
· Develop and manage budgets for facilities operations and maintenance.
· Oversee scheduling of preventive maintenance and repair work.
· Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
· Coordinate vendor relationships and manage service contracts.
· Perform hands-on maintenance and repair tasks as needed.
· Implement best practices for energy efficiency and cost control.
· Coordinate and maintain schedules for all required building and vehicle inspections to ensure regulatory compliance
· Manage ordering and inventory of supplies for organizations’ facilities.
· Maintain inventory of maintenance tools and equipment.
· Regularly attend monthly board meetings after hours and provide reports and presentations as applicable.
Required Skills/Abilities
· Attention to detail.
· Ability to work occasional evening hours and on-call, including weekends.
· Ability to quickly learn new hardware and software systems; reading, interpreting, acquiring, and absorbing technical material from a variety of sources.
· Ability to organize workload, manage and prioritize multiple tasks, and work under tight deadlines.
· Strong analytical skills for integration solutions planning. Strong interaction and team leadership skills for investigating user requirements for systems and integration.
· Must be able to perform the primary functions of the position with minimal supervision and demonstrate appropriate time and priority management skills.
· Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts, in spoken and written form, to both technical and non-technical audiences.
· Ability to work with a flexible schedule including occasional evening and weekend hours, and work extended hours when required for specific project activities and during urgent problem situations.
· Must be able to work with individuals from diverse ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.
