Resurgence Recovery is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and experienced Addiction Counselor/Substance Use Disorder Counselor to join our multidisciplinary treatment team. This position provides evidence-based counseling services to individuals receiving treatment for substance use disorders in a licensed residential treatment setting.

Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience providing counseling services in the field of substance use disorders.
- Must possess one of the following Louisiana-recognized credentials:
- Registered Addiction Counselor (RAC)
- Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC)
- Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC)
- Knowledge of the ASAM Criteria and evidence-based treatment practices.
- Strong understanding of motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, recovery planning, and trauma-informed care.
- Excellent written documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary treatment team.
- Must successfully complete all pre-employment screenings required by Louisiana Department of Health regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive substance use assessments and participate in the development of individualized treatment plans.
- Provide individual, and group counseling services utilizing evidence-based interventions.
- Develop measurable treatment goals and regularly review and update treatment plans in accordance with clinical needs.
- Complete timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate documentation that meets LDH, CARF, and organizational standards.
- Maintain client records in accordance with confidentiality regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and case consultations.
- Educate clients on relapse prevention, recovery skills, coping strategies, and community resources.
- Monitor client progress and recommend appropriate levels of care and discharge planning.
- Maintain professional boundaries and adhere to ethical standards established by credentialing organizations.
- Complete all required annual competency training, compliance education, and continuing education requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support quality patient care and program operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in residential or inpatient substance use disorder treatment.
- Experience with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Knowledge of CARF accreditation standards and continuous quality improvement processes.
