Position Summary
Greater Maryland Pain Management is seeking a compassionate, organized, and driven Patient Care & Scheduling Coordinator to join our growing healthcare team. In this role, you will serve as a primary point of contact for patients, helping coordinate communication between the Billing, Eligibility, Authorization, and Scheduling departments.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring patients receive timely support and guidance throughout their treatment journey while allowing clinical and administrative departments to remain focused on core responsibilities.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-service oriented, and comfortable managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced medical office environment.
Responsibilities
- Answer incoming patient phone calls professionally and efficiently
- Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate patient procedures and appointments
- Respond to billing-related questions and direct concerns appropriately
- Assist patients with insurance eligibility inquiries
- Provide updates regarding authorization status and treatment approvals
- Conduct appointment follow-up communication and reminders
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and records
- Support workflow efficiency across Billing, Eligibility, and Authorization departments
- Deliver exceptional customer service and patient support at all times
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a healthcare environment required
- Experience with medical scheduling, insurance verification, or medical billing preferred
- Strong customer service and phone communication skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations required
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Experience verifying insurance coverage, benefits, copays, and patient financial responsibility preferred
- Understanding of payment collection processes and treatment pricing is a plus
