Greater Hearts Human Services is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to be the onsite lead in our Lancaster, Pennsylvania Office for benefits administration, employee databases, employee relations, file maintenance, Human Resources Information Systems, performance management, recruitment, onboarding, and Workers Compensation. In this individual contributor role, the Human Resources Generalist will report directly to the Head of HR and serve as the first point of contact for employee handbook clarifications, employee relations issues, and Human Resources Policy Implementation. KEY FUNCTIONS:
BENEFITS ADMINISTRATION:
· Lead and coordinate health benefits annual open enrollment, leave programs including FMLA, Injury reporting, and OSHA log recording and posting.
· Liaise between team members and health benefits as well as Workers Compensation providers for case management, issue resolution, questions, and special requirements.
· Collaborate with finance and accounting to ensure that new and separated team members are properly and timely enrolled and unenrolled from benefits programs.
· Develop familiarity with ADP, Cobra, health benefits enrollment and disenrollment and Worker’s Compensation Systems.
EMPLOYEE RELATIONS:
· Serve as the onsite first point of contact for employee handbook, policies, and procedures inquiries triaging concerns for the Head of Human Resources.
· Establish and maintain a diverse, fair, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture with opportunities to develop company-wide recognition programs, wellness initiatives, and DEI strategies.
· Promote culture-building activities and team member engagement initiatives.
· Assist in developing, updating, and communicating Human Resources Policies and Procedures.
· Assist in disciplinary action administration by collaborating with the Head of Human Resources on appropriate level of discipline recommendations, disciplinary documentation and notice write ups, and disciplinary documentation and notice retention in team member files.
HUMAN RESOURCES ADMINISTRATION:
· Maintain employee databases, employee files, and Human Resources Information Systems that are compliant with local, state, and federal labor laws and regulations.
· Generate reports and metrics to foster data based Human Resources decision making.
· Manage employee information with the highest level of confidentiality and discretion.
· Manage acquisition of and posting of Labor Law Posters.
PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT:
· Coordinate and track probationary performance evaluation due dates and annual performance evaluation cycles.
· Identify training and developmental opportunities for employees with potential opportunity to design and deliver training modules.
· Assist in performance management by monitoring employee progress, collaborating with the Head of Human Resources on creating Performance Improvement Plans and coaching management and team members through the performance management process.
RECRUITING AND ONBOARDING:
· Coordinate and lead recruiting efforts for a wide range of roles, evergreen roles, and roles located in other Pennsylvania locations.
· Post jobs on really and other job boards, screen candidate resumes, secure completed applications from candidates, coordinate, and schedule interviews, conduct initial phone screens, assist managers with candidate selection and candidates with questions about Greater Hearts, and collaborate with Head of Human Resources with offer preparation and extension.
· Schedule, organize and facilitate new team member onboarding ensuring that the transition into the company is smooth, all legal and process documents are properly filled out and submitted, and follow-up with new team members to ensure their self-paced training is on track and completed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Bachelor’s degree in human resources, employment practices, employment relations or related field required.
· Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
· Proven problem solving and conflict resolutions skills.
· Proficiency in Human Resources Information Systems and Microsoft Office Suite required, ADP and Workday experience a plus.
· Strong knowledge of Human Resources practices, labor law, and employment regulations.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Two to three years of Human Resources experience in a generalist role with a Human Services organization preferred.
