JOB DESCRIPTION
Greater Birmingham Habitat for Humanity seeks part-time Sales and Warehouse Associates for its discount home improvement center, the ReStore. Hours will vary, including Saturdays. Retail or customer service experience preferred. Only those selected for interview will be contacted.

Responsibilities
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service
- Welcome customers to the store and answer their questions
- Remain knowledgeable on products offered and discuss available options
- Load/unload customer purchases and donations
- Receive product shipments and move to the sales floor using pallet jack, dolly, or cart
- Sort, price, and merchandise product for effective sales
- Assemble cabinets
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Self-motivated, reliable, and enthusiastic. Enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds
- A friendly and energetic personality with customer service focus
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- High standards of integrity and accountability
- Understanding and appreciation of the mission of Habitat for Humanity
- Proficiency in English
- Basic Math skills
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform under pressure and address complaints in a timely manner
- Ability to lift and move 50 lbs
- Basic understanding of a computer
- Ability to drive a box truck (previous experience preferred)
Work Environment
- This job operates in an open warehouse retail environment. The position is very active and requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. The employee must frequently lift, move and/or load items over 50 pounds with mechanical assistance or a team lift and items 50 pounds or below individually.
