Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment efficiently to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards
• Prepare ingredients by chopping, slicing, and portioning for meal assembly and cooking processes
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as assembling salads, garnishes, or side dishes under supervision
• Support the culinary team in meal preparation and plating to ensure timely service
• Follow proper food handling procedures to uphold food safety regulations and prevent contamination
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including counters, sinks, storage spaces, and workstations
• Help with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying supervisors of stock shortages or equipment needs

Experience

• Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is preferred but not required
• Familiarity with menu planning and food preparation techniques is advantageous
• Experience working in restaurants or the food industry demonstrates strong food handling skills
• Knowledge of kitchen safety practices and proper knife skills is beneficial
• Exposure to catering or serving environments can enhance understanding of food service operations
• Prior culinary experience or training in cooking methods supports successful performance in this role
