What are the responsibilities and job description for the Eau Claire - Ground Services Agent position at Great Planes Aviation?
The Ground Services Agent position is responsible for primary below wing ramp duties and occasional above wing customer service duties. Weekly work hours are scheduled based on employee availability and operational needs, with a minimum of 12 hours per week and up to 40 hours per week.
Above wing tasks may include, but are not limited to:
- Provides exceptional customer service to passengers through the Terminal to include ticketing, gate, and baggage
- Provide general information to passengers, such as directions and flight information
- Process tickets, check baggage, monitor carry-on baggage for size and quantity, and assign seats
- Provide information upon customer inquiries including arrival and departure times, boarding procedures, carry-on regulations, and seat assignments
- Handle denied boarding situations, solicit volunteers, re-accommodate customers and provide hotel, meal, and taxi vouchers, when appropriate
- Store unclaimed baggage
- Handle delayed baggage issues
- Ensure delivery of baggage to the affected customer for late arriving or miss-loaded bags
- Assist with lost and found articles
- Enforce safety/security measures and monitor sensitive safety zones
- Ensure compliance with FAA, Sun Country, and airport regulations
- Any other duties assigned by management
Below wing tasks may include, but are not limited to:
- Load and unload baggage and cargo of varying sizes and weights to and from the aircraft
- Frequently lift and carry 60 pounds
- Frequently sit, stand, walk, kneel, and climb stairs for extended periods of time
- Operate ground service equipment to service both aircraft and passengers, operate heavy machinery/equipment
- Direct aircraft to and from gates
- Service aircraft as needed
- Perform interior aircraft cleaning and stocking as needed
- Ensure runway is clear of foreign object debris
- Follow all necessary safety and security procedures as assigned

- Working environment is often outdoors in all weather conditions
- Team members will be exposed to loud and frequent noises from aircraft engines
