Forklift Operator – 1st Shift – Salina, KS
Great Plains Mfg, is seeking a 1st Shift Fork Lift Operator to support our Welding Department at our facility in Salina, KS.
This position works Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, with overtime on Fridays as required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all Great Plains policies and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment.
- Ensure correct part identification and delivery to correct location is a must to maintain inventory accuracy
- Complete preventative maintenance on all equipment used
- Ensure paperwork from vendors is accurate
- Load and unload trucks
- Flexibility to work with other departments and operate other equipment
- Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Must have forklift license or ability to obtain one
- Experience safely operating a forklift or similar equipment helpful
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Understand team concepts and be a strong team player
- Ability to excel in fast-paced, high-pressure situations
- Ability to use and understand AS400
- Ability to read blueprints, use tape measure, and read calipers
