Welder – 2nd Shift – Abilene, KS
Land Pride, a division of Great Plains Mfg, is seeking a 2nd Shift Welder for our Abilene facility in Abilene, KS.
This position works Monday through Thursday, from 4:30 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., with overtime on Fridays, as required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Load fixtures and weld parts as required
- Safely use all tools necessary for the position
- Maintain inventory accuracy at all times
- Read blueprints and utilize AWS weld symbols as required for the position
- Consistently achieve quality welds while staying on production schedule
- Follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment.
- Other duties may be assigned that require additional qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- MIG welding experience and ability to pass weld test, as required.
- Ability to give strong attention to detail and stay on-task in a fast-paced environment
- Have a good understanding of team concepts and be a strong team player
- Ability to read blueprints and recognize AWS weld symbols
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools and welding equipment
- Capable of embracing a culture of Lean Manufacturing and willing to accept/implement change
- Ability to follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed PPE as required
