Welder

Welder - 1st Shift – Ellsworth, KS

Great Plains Manufacturing is currently seeking an experienced 1st Shift Welder to join our team at our facility in Ellsworth, KS.

This position works Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with overtime on Fridays as required.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• Weld metal parts together, using both gas welding or brazing or any combination of arc welding processes utilizing a variety of welding equipment
• Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead positions
• Operation of various welding robots
• Clean, repair and examine welds as needed
• Conduct quality checks throughout the shift
• Follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment.
• Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.
  
  

Preferred Skills And Qualifications

• Working knowledge of MIG welding operations and ability to pass a weld test
• High standard for quality and detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Understanding of team concepts and willingness to be a strong team player
• Willingness to work overtime
• Ability to lift heavy parts throughout the shift
• Open to Lean Manufacturing and implementation of change
