Manufacturing Engineer – New Product Introduction

Land Pride, a division of Great Plains Manufacturing, is seeking an energetic, confident and detail-oriented person to join our team as a New Product Introduction Manufacturing Engineer. The Manufacturing Engineer will ensure that new products are launched on time, as well as overseeing the activity to move products from plant to plant.
This is an on-site position that typically works Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is based in Abilene, KS.

The Manufacturing Engineer will ensure that new products are launched on time, as well as overseeing the activity to move products from plant to plant.
This is an on-site position that typically works Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is based in Abilene, KS.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Systematically drive actions and accountability to required tasks and deliverables to the predetermined program timeline.
- Drive multi – disciplinary groups (Production, Engineering, Purchasing, Material control, Quality, Manufacturing engineering) to meet critical milestone deadlines.
- Document open issues, actions, owners and dates. Drive open issues to closure to accommodate company schedules.
- Identify open issues, actions, owners and dates to review with leadership.
- Create and maintain detailed schedules and routinely report progress/concerns to management.
- Manage design review process, production preparation, production trials, etc.
- Communicate effectively and foster teamwork.
- Follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment.
- Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree from a four-year college or university; or minimum 2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Functional discipline or operational leadership experience in a plant
- Must have solid problem-solving skills
- Overall understanding of manufacturing timelines; project management experience is a plus
- High level of proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and strong computer skills
- Preferred experience with Fab, Welding, Paint, and Assembly in a manufacturing engineering capacity
- Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; visa sponsorship is not available for this role
