POSITION SUMMARY
Cashier responsibilities include maintaining a good company image, promoting GLA's goodwill, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Accountable for adhering to Great Lakes Ace Hardware's Mission, Vision, and Core Values.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
REGISTER OPERATIONS(70% or more of role)
Operate cash register by scanning merchandise, engaging customers through suggestive selling, and providing excellent customer service. Process refunds, issue in-store credit, and reduce losses using loss prevention techniques. Follow GLA policies and procedures for all transactions.
SALES FLOOR(30% or less of role)
Greet customers, assist with answering questions, and aid in finding merchandise on the sales floor, online, or through special orders. Display and stock merchandise according to plan-o-gram guidelines. Collect carts and carry out merchandise as needed.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
Assist customers in service areas such as chain cutting, rope cutting, and glass cutting. Refrain from customer complaints and address them to proper personnel. Maintain store cleanliness and follow nightly maintenance checklist.
RELATIONSHIPS
Communicate professionally with customers, management, associates, and Support Center associates. Ensure clear understanding and effective resolution of issues.
TECHNOLOGY
Use computer keyboard, mouse, and Epicor system to perform tasks efficiently and effectively.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 16 years old, able to perform essential duties satisfactorily, and possess ability to read, interpret documents, and communicate effectively.
