General Statement
Under direct supervision of the Director of Student CARE the primary responsibility of the Veterans Success Coach is to create a network of support for Veteran students and their dependents; increase the percentage of eligible students who access services through the Military Family Center; assist students with planning and meeting short and long term goals for academic success; connect Veteran students and their dependents with industry and community support services; assist Veteran students and their dependents with job searching, resume and cover letter writing, and interview skills; and work with Veteran student to organize relevant events.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with the Director of Student CARE to provide a network of support to promote academic success
2. Assist students with accessing campus resources to help them meet their short-term and long-term goals
3. Connect Veteran students and their dependents with industry and community support services
4. Assist Veteran students and their dependents with job searching, resume and cover letter writing, and interview skills
5. Work with Veteran students and their dependents to organize relevant events
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
1. Associate degree or higher or be a current student at Great Falls College MSU
2. Knowledge of services available to Veteran students and their dependents
3. Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment
4. Experience working with diverse students
5. Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
1. Knowledge of the college, departments, services, and general knowledge of programs of study
2. Knowledge of post-secondary educational access and retention strategies
3. Experience working with students who are at risk
4. Experience in leadership, teamwork, and team building
5. Experience with public speaking and group facilitation

Pay: $18.00 per hour
