What are the responsibilities and job description for the Claims Processing - EDI Specialist position at Great Expressions Dental Centers?
What you’ll do…
This position will be responsible for handling the day-to-day functions related to the successful posting of dental insurance claims. This position is responsible for processing payments to accounts according to company policies. The role will complete all phases of Claims Processing training and will be required to meet set deadlines and departmental standards of accuracy. This position also requires basic knowledge of EDI functions. The right candidate will be able to assist with identifying ERA posting discrepancies and working with our IT department to correct ERA logic errors.
This position is located at the GEDC Practice Support Center in Southfield, MI and would require an on-site presence 5 days per week.
What you’ll bring to the team…
Post fundamental payer payments as assigned
Follow denial protocols and procedures to correct or adjust claims
Assist with departmental administrative duties
Post patient payments to accounts
Balance payment batches daily
Identify and resolve EDI/ERA posting errors
Other tasks as requested by direct Manager
What we require you have…
High school diploma or GED
Billing & Coding Certificate required or 2 years Claims Processing experience
Understanding of Medicare / Medicaid laws, managed care, and commercial health insurance a plus
Understanding EDI/ERA logic
Must possess high degree of professionalism and adaptability
10-Key & Alpha Numeric Data Entry with speed and accuracy
Proficient in the use of end-user computer applications regarding productivity (MS Word, Excel, Outlook), Windows file management, database, electronic health/medical records and patient billing and other medical information systems
Team Player
High level of detail orientation and organizational skills
Basic math and analytical abilities
Ability to work independently and professionally in a high volume environment
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Must have predictable and consistent attendance
