Job Summary
Primary duties will be assigned by General Manager and Executive Chef and will include overseeing all food smoking and food preparation. Must have experience with or knowledge of barbeque methods and strongly prefer this with prior experience working with a commercial smoker.
Required
In-depth understanding of smoking and barbecuing methods
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Industry specific strategic and analytical knowledge
Proficient culinary skills
Proficient computer skills (including Microsoft word, Excel, Outlook, and database applications)
Must be at least 18
Preferred
One-year of smoking experience
Servsafe certification
Typical Schedule
Days:
Varies including morning, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Hours:
Varies, including evenings
Core Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee meal quality within guidelines of menu, dietary requirements, and the standards of appearance, taste, temperature, and sanitation
- Oversee monthly inventory
- Ensure that items for service are prepared safely and correctly
- Understand food cost and actively work to minimize food waste and reduce overhead
- Oversee inventory and place orders as needed
- Drive catering vehicles
- Other duties as assigned by management
