We are looking for a friendly, organized, customer-focused person to join our South Portland showroom as a Customer Sales & Service Associate.
This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in retail, hospitality, banking, customer service, inside sales, reception, or another customer-facing environment who wants to learn new skills and build a long-term career.
You do not need to know anything about spas or saunas when you start.
We will train you.
The internal role is our Sales & Customer Experience Associate, designed to support Sales, Customer Success, and Service while developing the skills needed to eventually provide sales coverage and potentially advance into a Product Specialist position.
What You'll DoCreate a Great First Impression
You'll often be one of the first people customers meet when they visit or call Great Bay.
You will:
- Welcome showroom customers and help determine what they need.
- Connect customers with the appropriate Product Specialist or team member.
- Answer incoming sales and service calls.
- Provide professional, friendly customer support in person, by phone, and electronically.
- Help ensure every customer feels acknowledged and taken care of.
Handle Retail & Counter Sales
You'll assist customers purchasing products such as:
- Spa chemicals
- Filters
- Replacement parts
- Covers and cover lifters
- Steps
- Handrails
- Pillows
- Accessories
- Other spa and ownership products
You'll learn enough about our products to confidently answer questions and make appropriate recommendations.
Help Customers Take Care of Their Spa
One of the most important parts of this role is helping customers after their purchase.
You'll learn how to:
- Explain basic water chemistry.
- Help customers understand testing and routine maintenance.
- Answer common ownership questions.
- Assist with basic troubleshooting.
- Help customers identify replacement products and accessories.

Support Customer Service
You'll work closely with our Customer Service and Service teams to:
- Gather information from customers.
- Create service requests.
- Document customer conversations accurately.

Support the Sales Team
This is not primarily a Product Specialist position, but you will learn how our sales process works.
You may:
- Help Product Specialists during busy showroom periods.

- Follow up with customers when appropriate.
- Provide sales coverage after you have received sufficient training.

Introduce Customers to Ownership Programs
As your product knowledge develops, you will also help educate customers about programs designed to make spa ownership easier, including:
- Valet Program
- Great Bay Spa Protection Review
- Spa Renew
- Auto-Ship Chemical Program
- Custom Chlorine Feeder Program
- Other future customer ownership programs
These recurring customer programs are also specifically included in the new Great Bay draft.
Keep the Showroom Ready
Everyone contributes to the customer experience.
You'll help:
- Keep the showroom clean and organized.
- Restock products and accessories.
- Maintain attractive retail displays.
- Make sure customers can easily find what they need.

Compensation
