A large, established organization is looking to add a Senior Tax Accountant to its corporate tax team. The role offers broad exposure across federal, state and local tax compliance, tax provisions, research, audits and special projects. The team operates with a hands-off management style and is looking for someone who can work independently, think critically and bring solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review federal, state and local income tax returns
- Support complex consolidated corporate tax filings
- Assist with current and deferred tax provision calculations
- Review prior-year workpapers and independently identify next steps
- Conduct tax research and monitor changes in tax laws
- Support tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities
- Partner with external consultants on compliance and special projects
- Assist with tax planning, forecasting and process improvements
- Collaborate with finance, accounting and operational teams
Ideal Background
- At least two years of relevant tax experience; three to four years is ideal
- Strong consolidated income tax return experience is required
- Public accounting experience, followed by industry tax experience, is preferred
- Experience reviewing tax returns or workpapers is strongly preferred
- OneSource experience is highly preferred; GoSystem or similar tax software may be considered
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- CPA or CPA progress is a plus
- Polished communication skills and strong executive presence
- Self-sufficient, resourceful and comfortable working with limited oversight
Schedule
- Five days onsite for at least the first six months
- Leadership is open to discussing greater flexibility once the individual is fully trained and performing independently
Compensation
- Target base salary of $90K–$100K
