What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Manager position at Grayson Search Partners?
A long-standing, family-owned company (130 years in business) is looking to hire an Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and help modernize processes as the organization continues to grow.
This is a tight-knit, collaborative team where everyone pitches in — the ideal hire is hands-on, reliable, and enjoys being the go-to person for accounting operations.
What You’ll Do
- Own the full month-end close and prepare financial statements
- Manage balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, intercompany activity, and inventory adjustments
- Process payroll in Paylocity, including commissions
- Support A/P & A/R as needed (team is long-tenured and stable)
- Complete timely bank reconciliations (within 30 days)
- Partner with external CPA for tax-related items
- Oversee insurance and 401(k) administrative tasks
- Drive process improvements and contribute to ERP (Acumatica) enhancements
What They’re Looking For
- 5–8 years of hands-on accounting experience in a small-business environment ($10–40M revenue ideal)
- Strong close experience and comfort with multi-entity accounting
- Ability to lead and support long-tenured team members
- Acumatica experience preferred, strong Excel required
- Manufacturing or production experience a plus
- Must be comfortable being fully onsite, Monday–Friday
- A true do’er — someone who likes rolling up their sleeves and improving processes
