What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager position at Graylee Construction?
Project Manager provides onsite leadership and is responsible for providing oversight of projects to ensure that the team has what they need to perform their job well. They make sure that contracts’ quality standards are met on time and within budget. The Project Manager must communicate clearly and effectively to the onsite team, business development admins, and management. Internal and external collaboration and coordination must be managed well by the Project Manager for projects to succeed. This position requires an individual to use considerable judgement in performing job duties and must function with minimal supervision.
This position is one which requires a presence on jobsites to work directly with members of the team. A momentary lapse of attention may result in grave and immediate danger to the employee and others; therefore, this position is classified as safety sensitive.
Salary is dependent on demonstrated experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide regular detailed reporting on existing projects, resource allocation, project status completion statistics, any variances to plan
- Assist in estimating projects, solicitation of vendors/subcontractors, collaboration with superintendents/owner/engineer to properly establish pricing for a bid or proposal
- Review and monitor project work to ensure that progress follows plans and specs, is completed on time, within budget
- Provide recommendations on potential change orders on projects and process per contracts.
- Attend project meetings for potential work, pre-construction meetings for current projects, and other meetings as needed
- Effectively communicate regular updates about project to leadership, team, and other project stakeholders
- Resolve conflict within team and with other on site teams
- Manage project budget in an effective, efficient manner
- Consult and communicate with business admin team on project matters
Minimum requirements:
- 5 years experience with Highway or other Heavy Civil Construction jobs
- Self-directed and able to function within and lead a team
- Strong leadership/managerial skills to coordinate with the management team
- Ability to focus on details as required and can work well within a deadline driven environment
- Technically astute and strategic in thinking
- Ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external resources
- Must be able to climb, stoop, bend, and squat as needed for various duties
- Must be able to work in outdoor conditions in a wide variety of temperatures, including very hot and cold weather
- Must follow all safety requirements as specified in the Employee Handbook

- PE or EIT
- Bachelors in Construction Management
Pay: $70,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
