Overview
Join our vibrant early childhood education team as a Preschool Teacher. In this role, you will create a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for preschool children, fostering their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
Duties
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards that promote literacy, math skills, social-emotional learning, and early childhood development.
- Aid in potty-training and independence building for students.
- Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages exploration, independence, and positive behavior management.
- Conduct assessments of children's developmental progress using standardized testing methods and observational techniques to tailor instruction effectively.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share updates on their child's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones.
- Ensure classroom safety by adhering to health guidelines, maintaining cleanliness, and practicing first aid and CPR when necessary.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum development strategies that incorporate Montessori or other specialized educational approaches as applicable.
- Follow mandated reporting laws to report any concerns related to child welfare or safety promptly.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings, demonstrating strong classroom management skills.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles including child development instruction, behavior management, and classroom organization.
- Certifications in first aid and CPR are required; ongoing professional development in childhood development is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and community partners to foster a collaborative learning environment.
- Understanding of mandated reporting laws and child welfare policies to ensure compliance and safety.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- 10-Panel Urine Drug Screen, Background Check, TB Test, and CPR/FirstAid Certification required.
