Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of non-alcoholic beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met.
- Operate Square POS systems to process retail sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Handle cash, credit card, and mobile payments with precision, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting guests warmly, taking orders promptly, and answering questions about menu items.
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including food handling stations, beverage prep zones, and dining spaces, adhering to food safety standards.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling beverages and light food items while following food safety protocols.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure quick service without compromising quality or safety standards.
Skills
- Proven experience as a barista or in food service environments with knowledge of beverage preparation techniques.
- Familiarity with POS systems like Square POS, Aloha POS and Micros POS for retail transactions.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and transaction processing.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures in a café or retail setting.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during peak hours.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining attention to detail in all duties.
