As we continue to expand, we are seeking a Senior Accountant who will play a key role in strengthening our accounting operations, enhancing financial processes, and supporting timely, accurate financial reporting.

Position Overview

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing critical aspects of the monthly close process, maintaining the integrity of financial records, supporting revenue and cost accounting activities, and driving process improvements across the accounting function. This individual will work closely with finance leadership, operations, billing, payroll, and other cross-functional teams to ensure financial accuracy and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Month-End Close

• Lead key components of the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Analyze financial results and investigate variances.
• Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and management reporting packages.
• Maintain supporting schedules and documentation for balance sheet and income statement accounts.

Revenue & Cost Accounting

• Support revenue recognition activities across time-and-materials, project-based, and fixed-fee engagements.
• Partner with operations and delivery teams to ensure accurate billing, revenue reporting, and cost allocations.
• Analyze gross margins by client, consultant, project, and business unit.
• Manage invoicing support, purchase order tracking, and customer billing compliance requirements.
• Assist with customer and vendor management system processes and reporting.

General Ledger & Reconciliations

• Maintain and reconcile key balance sheet accounts.
• Perform detailed account analysis and resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger.
• Support cash management, prepaid expenses, accruals, and other core accounting functions.

Process Improvement & Controls

• Identify and implement opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies.
• Assist in developing and maintaining accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Support ERP optimization initiatives and system enhancements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts that strengthen reporting accuracy and reduce close timelines.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with billing, payroll, accounts payable, and operations teams to ensure data accuracy and process alignment.
• Support external audits, tax preparation, and compliance initiatives.
• Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.
• Participate in special projects, financial analyses, and strategic initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and revenue recognition principles.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial analysis.
• NetSuite preferred!
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Preferred

• Experience within staffing, professional services, consulting, technology services, or project-based organizations is highly preferred!
• Experience working with ERP and financial systems such as NetSuite, Bill.com, Coupa, Ariba, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with vendor management systems (VMS) and customer billing portals.
• Experience utilizing AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or similar technologies to improve productivity and workflow efficiency.
• CPA designation or CPA eligibility preferred.
