Our financial operations are evolving rapidly as we grow. The Senior Accountant will help build the backbone of Gratsy’s financial infrastructure, leading monthly close, managing budget tracking, ensuring GAAP compliance, and partnering cross-functionally to turn data into decisions.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
- Lead the monthly close process to ensure accuracy, timeliness, review of reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Maintain and enhance the Chart of Accounts, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with reporting structure.
- Review monthly journal entries for compliance and accuracy.
- Monitor department budgets and project lifecycle-level financial tracking, including setup, allocation, and reporting.
- Conduct weekly bill pay and review vendor invoices; ensure accuracy and alignment with budgets.
- Support the processing of use tax and campaign estimates, as needed.
- Provide guidance and support during the transition to new accounting software and recommend best practices, testing, and implementation strategies.
- Support and maintain basic Salesforce accounting-related functions, including data accuracy, reporting needs, or integrations.
- Identify and implement efficiencies in accounting workflows, reporting, and documentation.
- Uphold GAAP compliance and accrual accounting standards across all financial processes.
- Work with project managers and leadership to monitor financial performance and alert leadership of anomalies.
- Provide clear financial insights to non-finance team members to support decision-making.
- Support ongoing vendor onboarding and financial documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive financial data.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and recommend improvements where needed.

EDUCATION & RELATED EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or closely related field.
- 5 years of relevant accounting experience with the following: Advanced QuickBooks experience and GAAP/accrual accounting knowledge. Strong Excel and financial modeling skills; advanced formulas and data analysis.
- At least 2 years of professional experience with the following: Experience with project budgeting or cost tracking. Leading the month-end close and owning the integrity of financial reporting.
- Familiarity with Salesforce (or willingness to learn quickly).
- Proven experience advising leadership on financial trends, risks, and process improvements.
- Professional experience designing and improving accounting best practices and supports company-wide training as needed.
- Agency/startup/project-based environment preferred.
- CPA or pursuit of CPA is strongly preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES AND INTERACTIONS WITH OTHERS
- The position will be an individual contributor and may have indirect leadership responsibilities and will also interact daily with coworkers, customers, vendors, and the public.
