Position Summary:
The Assistant Restaurant Manager is responsible for ensuring fast, friendly, and courteous service. This role has a strong hospitality element, ensuring the restaurant delivers high quality food and drink and great guest service.
Essential Functions:
1. Responsible for practicing, supporting and promoting Graton Resort & Casino's Company-wide culture and demonstrating Graton Resort & Casino's Service Standards at all times.
2. Execute all Food Operations Department responsibilities by enforcing Graton Resort & Casino's policies and procedures fairly among all Team Members and in accordance with company's negotiated union contract.
3. Open and close the restaurant.
4. Interview, hire, and train new Team Members and effectively audit to ensure training standards are satisfied.
5. Schedule shifts and assign duties to Team Members.
6. Resolve Guest complaints in a professional manner.
7. Conduct month-end inventory.
8. Ensure restaurant adheres to all health and safety guidelines.
9. Manage the inventory and order food and beverages, equipment and supplies.
10. Ensure Team Members are exceeding Graton's Guest Service Standards.
11. Coordinate communication between front of house and back of house.
12. Conduct team huddles to pass along important information regarding property events, HR
announcements, and restaurant specials.
13. Evaluate and oversee job performance of all Team Members. Hold individual subordinates
accountable for performance of job duties, tasks, policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
1. Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
2. Two (2) years food and beverage supervisory experience.
3. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
4. Ability to handle a flexible schedule to work weekends, holidays and all shifts.
5. Ability to delegate, empower, and evaluate hourly Team Members to achieve desired objectives with minimal supervision.
6. Sound judgment in all decision making ability, even when dealing with difficult situations where guests, team members and the overall long-term profitability are not adversely impacted.
7. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick judgment decisions.
8. Must be at least 21 years of age.
9. Must be able to obtain a gaming license from the Graton Gaming Commission.
10. Possess or obtain a California Food Handler Certification.
Physical Requirements:
1. Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
2. Requires the physical ability to stand for long periods of time, bend or reach to a height of six (6) feet with or without assistance.
3. Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds with or without assistance.
4. Requires normal sense of smell, taste and touch.
