MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates Degree - REQUIRED
- Able to project positive public image
- Able to work with diverse populations
- Demonstrate good communication and organizational skills
- Experience with Word, Excel and Internet based programs
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Previous successful experience working with Michigan Works!
DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE TO: Employment Programs Administrator
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist employers with posting job orders, collecting and screening applications
- Ability to help job seekers with resumes and cover letters, including proofreading
- Operate multi-line telephone system: operate phones at front desk, answer and transfer calls, use voice mail system and assist others with system
- Provide job seekers with self-directed job search activities, copying and faxing
- Maintain professional image while performing Office Specialist duties
- Perform general office duties: operate fax and copy machine, filing, document composition, sort and distribute mail, weigh and determine class of outgoing mail
- Perform month end tasks: data collection, client activity reports
- Proficient with the use of computers, software (Word and Excel), and internet based programs
- Provide clerical support to Career Managers
- Have knowledge of local community service agencies
- Have knowledge of agencies/services provided at Michigan Works!
- Demonstrate good organizational skills
- Participate and contribute to committee work
- Other duties as assigned
