Duties
- Supervise and engage dogs during playtime, ensuring safe interactions and positive socialization experiences
- Monitor dogs’ behavior closely, recognizing signs of stress or discomfort and intervening with proper animal handling techniques
- Assist with dog training activities to promote good manners and obedience
- Perform animal restraint and handling with care, following safety protocols at all times
- Maintain cleanliness of the daycare area, including pet grooming tasks when needed
- Provide pet sitting services for dogs requiring special attention or medication administration
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their dog’s behavior, health, and overall well-being
Requirements
- Weekend Availability
- Prior experience in dog handling, pet sitting, or kennel work is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and animal restraint methods
- Veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience is a plus, demonstrating familiarity with animal health needs
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary (e.g., lifting large dogs or supplies)
- Strong customer service skills to interact professionally with pet owners and visitors
- Animal handling skills combined with patience, compassion, and a positive attitude
- Basic pet grooming, pet care, and animal restraint knowledge are desirable but not mandatory
