Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and motivated CNC Setup Machinist with some prior experience. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in operating CNC machinery and a strong desire to expand their skills and responsibilities. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC machines (both lathe and mill – lathe experience is a requirement) safely and efficiently to produce precision parts.
- Setup and Program CNC lathe and mills machines using conventional G and M code, and conversational programming
- Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and inspection plans.
- Load/unload parts, inspect work using measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc. – using these measuring tools is a mandatory requirement).
- Monitor machines for proper operation and report any issues to the supervisor.
- Perform basic machine maintenance (change tooling, clean area, etc.).
- Keep accurate records of work performed and parts produced.
- Work closely with senior machinists to learn setup procedures.
- Demonstrate a willingness to take on increasing responsibilities over time.
Qualifications:
- 2 years minimum of CNC machine setup and programming experience on CNC lathe
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of G-code and CNC controls is a plus a mandatory requirement.
- Experience with Okuma, Haas, or Fanuc controls is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn and grow into a setup role.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well in a team environment.
