Grapevine Faith Christian School exists to develop and graduate authentic Christian leaders.

Position Summary:

The Senior Technology Specialist supports the mission of our school by providing leadership, guidance and support for three facets of GFCS technology: Data & System Administration (SIS support), educational technology, and general technical support. The Specialist will report to the Director of Information Technology.

Status:  Full-Time / Non-Exempt / 12-month 

Responsibilities:

1. Seeks to role model in speech, actions, and attitude, a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ. 
2. Oversee the input, maintenance, and accuracy of student records within the Student Information System, ensuring data consistency and reliability.
3. Generate and submit required reports to school administrators and relevant educational authorities, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
4. Develop and deliver training sessions for teachers and administrative staff on the effective use of all school systems, providing ongoing technical support as needed.
5. Manage system settings, user permissions, and perform regular updates to optimize the functionality and security of the Veracross SIS and other school systems.
6. Coordinate the integration of the SIS with other school systems and third-party applications, ensuring seamless data flow and system interoperability.
7. Conduct regular system audits and testing to identify and resolve issues, ensuring the school systems  operate efficiently and effectively.
8. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including user guides and standard operating procedures, related to the Veracross SIS and other school systems. 
9. Work closely with various departments, including academics, admissions, and finance, to understand and support their data and reporting needs through the SIS. Maintain a regular plan for sharing relevant update information with the necessary GFCS stakeholders.
10. Keep abreast of new features and updates to the SIS and other school systems, implementing enhancements to improve system performance and user experience.
11. Support teachers by assisting in technology integration in the classroom, to include assisting with lesson plan development, testing technology-integration programs.
12. Support teachers’ use of technology in the classroom by performing basic technology troubleshooting functions and coaching on use of technology as needed.
13. Assist in conducting needs assessments to offer appropriate professional development for teaching competencies for technology integration in the classroom. Assists in the development of a technology professional development plan. Conducts teacher professional development on technology competencies and instructional technology, to include new teacher training.
14. Assist in managing instructional technology programs such as, but not exclusively IXL, Google Apps for Education, Membean, Discovery Education and other instructional tools.
15. Provide general technical support to include deployment of computers and software, maintaining printers and the technology support ticketing system as well as troubleshooting technology related issues.
16. Provide regular support for classroom streaming for both teachers and guests.
17. Serve as first-line technical support for GFCS teacher and student technology-related problems across all campuses..
18. Follow established school policies, procedures and guidelines in a spirit of positive cooperation.
19. Utilize educational opportunities and evaluation processes for professional growth while seeking the council of administrators and colleagues.
20. Follows the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with students, parents, administration, staff, and Board.
21. Maintain and uphold the religious standards of Faith Christian School to include the Lifestyle Statement, Staff Covenant and Statement of Faith.
22. Responsible to disciple, instruct and actively pray for the students on our campus.
23. Responsible to reinforce a Biblical Worldview in every workplace interaction with both students, staff and faculty.
24. Represents the school in a favorable and professional manner to the constituency and general public.
25. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule. 
26. Other duties as assigned that are closely related. 

Qualifications:

• Must possess and model a personal authentic relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Must be a member in good standing of a Bible believing church and lead a mature Christian life.
• A proven problem solver with an ability to troubleshoot computer issues; inquisitive working style and desire to get to the root of technology issues. 
• Working knowledge of application software including Enterprise solutions (such as Blackbaud, Veracross), Google Apps for Education, Google Classroom, word processing, spreadsheets, email, internet browsers, and basic computer troubleshooting to include wireless connectivity and printer use.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions in accordance with established school policies and procedures, and the school mission and core values.
• A Bachelor’s Degree is required. 
• Required:  CompTIA A Preferred:  CompTIA Data , Security , Network , MS-SQL.
• Must demonstrate knowledge of education technology and data manipulation. 
• Excellent interpersonal and relational skills.
• Excellent technology skills and the ability to learn new technology. 
• Ability to prioritize duties independently. 
• Positive attitude and friendly demeanor with ability to build relationships with teachers, manage school-wide initiatives and implement best practices. 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate with colleagues, parents and community. 
• Comfortable with experimentation and trying new ideas.
• Uses acceptable English in written and oral communication. Speaks with clear articulation.
